FAQ

I registered but don’t see my name on the participant list.
Double check that your card was charged or that the check was cashed. Our online participant list is updated instantly when a new runner registers. You can confirm your registration here. Mail in entries are added to the database by hand and don’t always appear right away. If you are having issues confirming your registration please email info@finalstretch.com or call 507-664-9438

I registered for one race and want to switch to a different race, is that possible?

You can change your race distance by returning to the online registration and logging into the account that you used to sign up. Once logged in you will have an option to switch distances using the transfer request. There is a $5 switching fee along with any event price differences.

I cannot run the race anymore – can I get my money back?

Race fees are nonrefundable and cannot be transferred to next year’s race or another event. Sorry, no exceptions. However, your registration can be transferred to another participant up to one week before race day. Registration transfers can be done through the online registration page once logged into Race Roster. There is a $15 transfer fee along with any event price difference. There will be no registration transfers after the deadline or on race day.

Are there any registration discounts available?
Two-Race Discount:
We’ll give you $10 off the 5K on Saturday if you run one of the races on Sunday too! Register for one of your races and then email info@finalstretch.com or call (507) 664-9438 to get your Two-Race discount code before registering for your second event!

Corporate Discount:
Join together a group of your co-workers and save money on registration. We will give $5 discounts per person for companies who have 10 or more runners. Corporate groups must register all runners at the same time. Our online registration will automatically apply the corporate discount during the registration process.

We also encourage companies to purchase company shirts for their teams. It’s a great way to promote your company – you will be seen as a community partner, a supportive employer, and an organization that cares about employee health.

If you have questions about signing up a corporate running group email info@finalstretch.com or call (507) 664-9438 for more information.

Military Discount:
We are happy to support those who protect us. That’s why we offer $5 off any race registration to those in the military. To receive a military discount send an email to info@finalstretch.com or call (507) 664-9438. You will need to show your military ID when picking up your race packet.

How will I know how full each race is?

On the online registration page you can view how many spots are still available for each distance.

Is the course certified?

The marathon and half marathon courses are USATF certified. The marathon can be used as a Boston Marathon qualifier.

Where should runners park for the marathon?

Runners are required to either get dropped off at the start line at Byron Intermediate school or take our provided free shuttles. There are numerous parking ramps and public lots within a few block radius of the finish line. There are free ramps on 1st Street and 2nd Street. Here is a link to all of the Rochester public parking locations.

Are there shuttles to the start line?

On the morning of the race, buses will start taking people from the corner of 1st Street SE and 1st Avenue SE in Rochester (1 block west of the Mayo Civic Center) to the start line at Bryon Intermediate School at 5:20am. Last bus will leave from the shuttle location at 6:25 a.m. Note: the shuttle buses are for runners only, they will not return to the Finish Line after the race begins.

Is there a headphones policy?

Headphone use is allowed at your own risk. Please remove them or pause your music when you approach an officer or a course marshal to ensure that you can hear their directions.

Is there a runner bag drop?
Full, Relay, 20 mile, and Half Marathoners will be able to check their belongings on race day at the start line. At packet pick up, runners will receive their official  Drop Bag as well as a bag label which corresponds to your bib number. Before your race attach the bag label to your bag and fill the bag with your warm-up clothes. There will be a bag drop area near the start line to drop your clothes and gear prior to the race. Items must be in your official Drop Bag. NO OTHER BAGS ALLOWED. You can pick up your bag in the runner’s corral at the end of your race. You must show your race number to get your gear back.

We ask that no valuable or fragile items be placed in the drop bag. This drop area is for only gear and there is no guarantee on your items. We do not accept responsibility for loss or theft. Any items left unattended at the starting line and/or finish line  will be picked up and donated to a local charity.

IMPORTANT MESSAGE ABOUT SAFETY AND SECURITY

With the tragic events that occurred in Boston, we are taking as many precautionary steps as we can to keep the Med City Marthon safe for everyone involved. With that, we have a couple of important things for you the participants to note:

1. ALL UNATTENDED BAGS left anywhere on the grounds will be confiscated.

2. The Runner Bag Drop will be heavily monitored, and all Mayo bags used for the Runner Bag drop are subject to search.

3. ONLY the official race drop bags which participants receive at packet pickup will be allowed into the Runner Bag Drop.

4. The Runner Bag Drop is ONLY for 20 Mile, Half, and Full Marathon Participants.

We are looking forward to a safe event for everyone!
